Frost
Injury and Control
Avocado flesh can turn black from exposure to cold. When severe,
fruit can develop brown, water-soaked spots in the skin, gray
areas in the flesh, and may even crack or split.
Test frost control systems by November and apply frost
protections when warranted from about November through
March, especially
if growing on flat land.
