Verbenas are fast-growing perennial plants,
sometimes grown as annuals. They are often planted as ground
covers, along driveways, parking areas, or in hanging baskets.
Verbenas attract butterflies and produce clusters of small,
tube-like flowers with 5 petals, generally in the summer.
Flower colors include purple, white, pink, red, and blue.
Optimum conditions for growth
Verbenas do well in hot weather with full
sun. Most species do well with little to moderate amounts
of water. Some species require regular amounts of water.
Soil must be well-drained. Plants do best where there is
good air circulation.
