Pests in Gardens and Landscapes

Bolting

Bolting occurs when flowers develop too quickly. Flower stalk initiation may be stimulated by high temperatures.

Solutions

Plan to plant when environmental conditions during development will not stimulate bolting or the growth of flower stalks.
