How to Manage Pests

Pests in Gardens and Landscapes

Overwatering

Carrots that have been overwatered rot or have enlarged white "eyes." Roots may be hairy, forked, and misshapen.

Solutions

Water less often and provide good drainage. Avoid planting carrots in heavy soils. Plant in light soils such as sandy loam. Maintain uniform soil moisture at seed depth until seedlings emerge.
