Hyposoter exigua
Some species of parasites such as Hyposoter wasps parasitize and are important in controlling
a number of different pest species in gardens. The parasitic wasp, Hyposoter exigua, lays its eggs
in young larvae such as corn earworms, loopers, beet armyworms, or hornworms. After hatching, the wasp
larva will complete its development within the worm, killing the worm before emerging. |
