Pea weevil—Bruchus pisorum
Pea weevils are small, black to brownish insects with white zigzag bands across the back.
Eggs are laid on pods, and hatching larvae burrow into pods and feed on developing peas. Adults feed
Adult weevils overwinter in plant debris in the soil. Disc the soil and remove any plant debris following
harvest to eliminate any overwintering adults. Some varieties show resistance to weevils.
