The type of leaf edge (margin) is another way to identify a plant.

Smooth (enitre) Rounded teeth (crenate) Lobed
A leaf with smooth or entire margins A leaf with crenate margins A leaf with lobed margins
 
Pointed teeth (serrate) Feathered (pinnatifid)
