Symptoms
Dry spots may develop where turf is not getting enough water. Areas
with too much water may become scalded or scorched if drainage is
poor and temperatures are high. Overwatering or waterlogged areas
also lead to root pathogen problems and invasion by certain weed
species.
Prevention
and management
Check sprinklers for broken heads. Fix or replace as needed. Perform
a "can test" on
your lawn to check your sprinkler output. Make sure you are getting
uniform coverage. Follow recommended
watering procedures and schedules. Where poor drainage occurs,
aerate or consider renovation.
