Masked chafers (white grubs) — Life cycle


Adults emerge from the soil in the late spring to early summer and lay eggs in the root zone. Larvae emerge and go through 2 instars, feeding on roots. Larvae overwinter as third instar larvae and pupate in the spring. There is one generation per year.
