Lawns with severe problems require a complete renovation. It is probably
more practical to destroy your existing lawn and start from scratch rather
than to try to salvage an already deteriorating lawn.
Before
doing anything, determine why your lawn is in its current condition
Poor drainage and poor soil quality can be corrected by reworking the
soil after the existing grass is removed. If the problem is the result
of the wrong turf species planted,
choose a more appropriate species. You may want to consider a resistant
species if you are battling insect or disease problems. Proper care and
maintenance after renovating will help keep your lawn healthy.
